Feature request - Emergency warp on critical damage (DONE)

Post by bobedge3149 »

Hi All,

Great bit of software by the way :D

After losing a Hulk in 0.5 (guess drones gradually were destroyed), and making not much profit mining 1.0 space, I would like to see a "Warp to station if damaged" option.

This would allow mining 0.5 roids with no worries about coming home to find 100 mil worth of scrap floating around.

Best regards
Bob...

Gisti b small shield booster..

no need for drones it tanks like a mofo. they are not that expencive these days and well worth investing in. i've mined in .5 with multiple rats chewing at the shields and they never dropped bellow 95 %

i use the gisti b, a small extender and 2 cap rechargers it's never capped out once not even after a long warp in..

i tried drones but found TM had issues once they were all dead :(

EDIT: i also have it set to always run the booster ,

Loosing drones:

You could try training some of the drone enhancement skills, a must do for all miners I'd say. I too have an active shield tank and use the drones to kill belt rats. The most damage I've had to repair on 5 T1 hammers after 12+ hours of mining was around 2000 isk. I stopped using T2s when I lost 10 after a few server crashes.

The best bi-product of using tinyminer is the bounty prizes and security standing increase...unless you don't like either of those of course!

I have implemented this option in the next version v3.2. If selected then TinyMiner will watch the shield capacity and if it reaches somewhere around 20% then it will quit EVE causing the ship to immediately warp away and logoff. Of course the ship won't warp when being warp scrambled but NPC rats don't do that so it should be useful in most situations.

I seem to have a problem with this feature. At about 90% TM shuts down eve. I just stopped using the feature all together. It ticked me off to come home to see I only mined 1 cycle and then shut down due to critical damge per the log file. blah

This feature is working correctly, I am using it all the time and it mines all night long without problems. When using this feature the program is constantly monitoring the color of the shield so it is important that the shield area is not covered by other windows. This includes your Windows screensaver.

If the screensaver is set to kick in after a short period of inactivity it may trigger during a mining cycle (especially when mining ICE) because there are no mouse movements until the cycle is over. When the screensaver kicks in TinyMiner will no longer be able to read the shield color and will quit EVE in order to save your ship from critical damage. The solution is to disable the Windows screensaver or set it to a higher value such as 20 minutes or so.

Your screensaver knows the difference between roids and ice?!

Oh man, I want it!

naww screen saver was set to like 5 minutes so in normal roid minning it never went off but in ice with the cycle rate being so long it did

I found out why I had been having some issues with the Critical shield option and wanted to post my findings for others.

Basically so long as you have the screen saver off and nothing popping up to cover the NEOCOM then it works as it should do...

HOWEVER, I also found out that if 'windows' locks up for a brief second, either max'd CPU or another 'windows' related stall, TM thinks that there is critical damage and quits!

I saw this happen twice today and after viewing my 100% proccessor use when a virus scan was running in the background pointed me in this direction.
I tested it again by running a few other programs as well as EVE maxing out my CPU to 100% and TM quit EVE when the window was 'Not responding' but then to come back alive 2 secs later.

So Hope this helps.
