Ok, maybe you dont want to say what systems you mine in but im asking this anyway.
Which of the four empires do you find best to mine in? ie. would it be worthwhile to mine in amarr for the kernite or caldari for pyroxerres
Which of the four factions do you find to have the most quiet space? Can you recommend any regions or systems in paricular?
I tried in caldari space near Jita but its a very busy area so I think it will be easier to get caught
Which systems are good for mining?

Any system is good for mining if ore prices are good there or you have a freighter to move it around. Since tritanium prices increased a bit lately I alternate between mining veldspar and scordite in high sec systems and ICE in mid sec.

I mine in the Heimatar region partly because it has been declared "safe" by the goonies but mainly because I have some good systems to mine where I have standings with a corp within one or two jumps. This allows me to refine at zero tax/waste dues standing and skills.
I mine veld, plag, and scor. Sometimes all three at one time sometimes just plag and veld, the common one being veld.
I choose systems that have a true sec status of .75 - .84 because in minnie space these systems contain the three ores I like to mine. Another reason is that I believe concord responds faster in these systems should someone try and suicide you. Keep in mind I do not know for certain if this is the case my evidence is purely anecdotal. Someone tried to unsuccessfully gank one of my miners but were unable to do so, concord responded fairly quickly and the suicider were promptly dealt with. Of course the real reason may be that his ship was not setup properly to do a quick gank. Maybe one reason is that I tank my hulk because I do not use drones I merely tank them. Of course if a suicider even suspects I'm tanking which was quite obvious due to the lack of drones in the area, he will use the proper ammo.
Bottomline is I do not know whether or not sec status has anything to do with how fast or effective concord is so don't base anything off what I say in this regard. It's a rule that I live by and seems to work for me. Plus I've found systems with a high sec status is not as crowded with miners.
