TinyMinerPlus: Cargo Full

Post by TJRedleg »

Ok this isn't really a problem.

It seems that when running TMP one ship fills up way to soon before the other one. I assume this is because on the second client the laser cycle times aren't in synch because the second client's lasers run a little longer. In other words client one does a 90 sec cycle whereas client two goes slightly longer than 90. Mainly because the program goes through the reselecting roids routine which results in the second client's lasers running over the specified time. Keep in mind this is what I believe is taking place. The result is that the second client mines more than the first one because of the longer cycle. Which means the second clients cargo bay fills up a lot sooner.

Keep in mind this is not a show stopper but it can be wasteful. I'm not sure theres an "elegant" solution to this "problem" without getting into creating specific profiles for each client.

One solution may be to have the second client do one less cycle than the first one. for example the user specifies 8 mining cycles 90 secs for each. The first client executes all eight cycles but the second client only executes seven. Again I don't think this is an elegant solution hell I don't even know if it will fix what I've described.

At the moment I'm running 8 x 85 second cycles trying to lessen the waste, Not sure if that will work. I used to run 9 x 90 sec cycles. The other side to this coin is skills. One of my characters has exhumers 5 the other only has 4 which affects yield.

Still a great program.

Yes I totally see what you mean. I have mainly tested TinyMinerPlus with mining ICE where there is a single cycle so this problem is not visible.

However I don't see an easy solution to this problem since there will always be a time gap between the two eve clients since they switch actions one after another.

I suggest lowering the number of cycles and increasing their time, for example 7 cycles of 120 seconds each. Also you could start the more skillful character first (the one with exhumer 5) and then the less skillful character (which mines less ore) after it.

Mining with each account on its own computer will always be more efficient. Use TinyMinerPlus when that is not possible or desirable due to other inconvenient reasons, such as the second computer is not available at that moment or whatnot.

Right it's not that big of a deal.

I'll do what you said and start the more skilled player first and tweak the cycles some.
