Starting Eve remotely?

Ok, so I'm at work before the server starts up. I'd like to remote in to my computer at home and get Eve + TM going. I tried using Remote Desktop but I get an error that says the game will not run remotely, in other words I can't start Eve using RD.

Is there another program I could use to get things going remotely?

Well I'm going to respond to my own question just in case someone else has the same dilemma.

http://www.tightvnc.com/

Seems to be the answer (TighVNC). I was able to start and run TM and Eve. I have yet to try it "outside" of my lan, BUT I was able to use my routers IP with port forwarding pointing to a specific computer.

If there's another way please tell.

You could set up a simple macro to start up eve and TM. It wouldn't be hard to program, and just set it for a delay so that it starts them up after the servers come back up, give them about a half an hour extra just in case.

There's lots of simple recorder style macro programs, just look around on google. Plus, gaming keyboards, mouses, and gamepads often come with their own macro software. Then you don't have to worry about firewalls, port-forwarding, or connectivity issues either.

Easy enough to find a copy of auto it to quickly code it like fastabenj said, auto it isnt too complicated for a beginner to use just for a delay and startup/login.

Try Teamviewer.

I use it to check TM during the day from work. It's really good at getting through firewalls without needing h4x.

Has anybody figured out how to disconnect from the computer you are remoting to without having the "thanks for using the free version" window popped up on the remote machine? Its causing tiny miner to not be able to click back to the eve client, then shortly after giving up.

Are you guys buying the licensed version or is there some trick I am missing?

I don't want to leave a connected window ALLL day :(

Not playable but usable to verify good start or validate installation wizard 3000km away from home.

I use RemotelyAnywhere, http://www.remotelyanywhere.com/

Its great you can control your home pc trought http tunneling (thous passing firewalls) using any available browser, you only have to install the server on your home pc, the rest is controlled by a browser, and you can control the pc via:

- Active X
- Java
- HTML (this is great its what i use, it takes screenshots of your computer desktop, and then you can right click or left click with your mouse to make the choices you want inside the game), and its fast, very recomendable :)

BTW its not freeware :P, but you can easely get the latest cracked version in a torrent site :)

Just use Logmein, it is free, browser based and works great. You just add your pc to you account(can add as many as you want), it installs the client and then as long as your pc is online you can connect to it. There is even an app for the ipod touch and iphone.
