Critical damage alert & log off when window opened (SOLVED)

Whenever I open a window while TinyMiner is running, I immediately get an alert that Critical Damage has occurred, it asked if I want to log off (there i no way to say no fast enough) and I'm at my desktop.

While the easy answer is don't open a window, every now and then I need to to check something.

Why does this happen, and can it be fixed?

Well if you really need to open a window and check something while TInyMiner is running, make sure it doesn't cover the shield area and you're golden. Just resize your People&Places, Market, Character Sheet or whatever window you want to open and just place it above the shield so that TinyMiner can successfully continue to monitor it. The basic idea of a critical damage alert is that when it triggers the situation is already pretty dire and there's no time to waste!
