A plea for help

Post by Captnbackard »

Hello everyone, so just a bit of whats happened to me lately.

I used to mine in a quiet back-end .5 with little problems. After being ganked there a few times I tried moving to another backed .8/.9 area. It seemed really quiet for whatever reason but on my first night 1 local, probably one of the few reported all of my characters. I moved back to my origional .5 and things were okay for a time. there were one or two regulars there but they never spoke and things were alright. 1 month ago about one of them ganked 2 of my miners in 1 night. since then I've been scouring for a safe spot to mine and have had no luck, even my last location, a highsec bubble behind a 1 jump lowsec had pilots in it 75% of the day. To top it off, I just lost a faction tower i bought years ago for 500mill which is worth over 1.2 billion today because I didn't realize I had it in my t1 industrial. At any rate I'm almost done, I'm hoping that someone would be willing to help me get back on my feet by sharing their space with me, whether it be a quiet highsec or even a wormhole. I would be willing to offer a cut of my mining for some time and to help with any logistics. I have 2 freighters, t2 industrials and can fly a rorqual as well. Also, I have excellent standing with caldari and amarr and good refining skills

I think the first question is, what are you actually asking?

I've been running this app for a while, in systems with active players, and haven't ran into much problems even with the locals, so I guess it begs the question, what are you doing to stand out.

My scenario, I run 2 Orca's in 2 systems on a primary computer, sitting in a belt with drones deployed. I have 2 sets of 2 pilots mining belts for about 5 hours right now. Between these 4 toons, I'm doing 1M m3 in ore per day, with some creative cycles. My toons fly into the belts at 200k, and warp to the site. One of the locals decided to bring some ships out one day to apparently gank me, but since I was watching I was able to react in local and point them out (on the non TM account). They stopped harassing me after that. I also turned off reject on the invite and just set it to 500K ISK. Sometimes people still want to chat, but it costs them since I close the window ever couple times. Some people haven't figured it out yet LOL. I have also done some other stuff, including manually mining one of the toons, etc.

Now I suspect that you're setting your stuff up and walking away from the computer for a day and coming back dead. There was a pretty long thread about how not to get caught from CCP because of mining habbits. You should read that. I suspect that once your accounts get flagged you'll probably be more of a target.

There really is no need to share space. Manually mine for a while, get back on your feet, chat with locals, show them you're real, crap like that.

Now, as a member of a bigger alliance, I was suckered into flying logi a week ago to rep a POS, during that wonderfully boring time in a Basi for several hours, I macro-mined 4 toons, and ran incursions (which was the biggest pain because I'm limited mobility with a mouse). I did this for several hours. And I also did it while talking to the locals. During this time I macro-mined an entire belt out (which wasn't the intent as I hope to farm them).

But with that level established now, I can tell them what I'm working on another screen and I'm just doing mining in the background now, and they leave me alone.

Seems to work.

So, wash, rinse, and repeat, but start by hand this time.

Remember, you can always start over with an Ibis and a mining laser...

I mine very safely in terms of getting caught. TM will close on nearly all forms of player contact, except being ganked, which I recently solved with the new exhumer changes and ehp tank fits sacrificing yield. I also mine primarily 5-6 hours a night when I go to bed but if I work in the morning I will leave it on and can be out all day sometimes. I'm not having a problem with being detected but with other players. The locals here know me, I talked with them when I first moved and respond anytime im active now but I'm sure they just think I'm quiet now. I also inhabit a system that I was the sole corp in. I am safe enough but my current problem shows no signs of leaving and I really do not want to find a new home, believe me I've been looking for about a month now. I have also received another war dec from their alt corp and I don't trust tinyminer to be fast enough if that alt shows up because they will more than likely warp directly to me using his mains as warp to points. If I were to stay in a safe spot till his mains were gone I wouldn't get any mining done. So I suppose I either fight back and war dec his main corp, which means 0 mining for me or wander the galaxy for a while until I find a place that's suitable for me. I guess asking here was a long shot as too many bots in one place is a bad idea anyway.

I will however move my orca and hulks to a prospective place and try and get some face time in there in the meantime.

At any rate I realized I also have a rorqual blueprint plus all the blueprints for the parts and the skills to build it if anyone wants to take me up on my offer.

Unless your dec'ers don't know how to use locator agents you are never safe during the wardec. With that said, find an alliance that will take you once the dec ends. There are some dec shield corps still. Mine is, but giving that info out gives you a list of my macro toons, which doesn't work well for me.

Oh dude,

if this still seems to be an issue, go to an NPC Corp for a while, but leave an placeholder alt in the old corp so that it doesn't get closed. Maybe even create some dummy alts to rise the corps numbers....

Mine for a few months in an npc corp. Monitor local, train a few really good pvp alts, blast your enemies to pieces and be done with it. If all fails, sell these mining toons and get new ones, that your enemy doesn't know.

It's not rocket science, it's EVE. U just have to outsmart all the dumbasses there are...

BTW flying a hauler while at war is.... Where do you mine again? Do you still have another faction tower in another hauler??? ^^

I think the main problem is that if you get ganked while botting and they figure that out they keep coming back to you as your are a sure thing, they are probably bot haters, I have been ganked several times but all ways happened to be there and respond with ships and chatter which takes me off their Bot list.
Its all about luck, your best bet is to lay low and mine for real and move those alts to mission running for a month.

I Do have a Ganking Alt, and I only use it on new and Gypsy Miners (wandering miners) to prevent them from moving into my system and becoming another regular
