Optimal TM settings for Mackinaw?
Optimal TM settings for Mackinaw?
I am new to this and was wondering if some people would mind sharing what settings they are using for the mackinaw as far as "Mining Cycles" and "Reset lasers every XX seconds" Im currently running 15 cycles at 170 second intervals, but sometimes this doesnt seem to be filling my hold up completely. other times it does. Do the lasers pull considerably less ore when they are shut off early? What im trying to accomplish is having the least amount of down time. Ive noticed that using a higher reset timer sometimes leaves me sitting idle when a roid pops quickly. Thanks for any help.
Re: Optimal TM settings for Mackinaw?
45s and 20 cycles before docking, all skills maxed. no drones. I have orca buffs.
dont use full cycles, will waste too much time in almost empty roids.

I roll with 71sec, 19 cycles using TM Double Client.
It all depends on skills, fitting, boost, etc. What you need to do is spend some time watching the cycles, make some tweaks and watch some more until you get it tuned in. The best fit for me most likely wont be the best fit for you.

When boosted I run half cycles or 60s and then adjust the number of cycles based on how much I fill each time. This will be based on your individual miners skills. I do use the 80% feature to help fill the ship a little more if I run into a lot of tiny rocks that go poof early. It also depends on if you are running dual or single client. On dual client cut cycle times down by 33% or so because there is more of a delay between when TM resets lasers.

Well, that is the million dollar question.
No one can tell u that except for yourself. It depends on the system u r mining in, whether it has big or small roids. The more small roids there are, the sooner they will pop and u will go idle with longer cycles.
furthermore, it depends on your pc, the time it takes between switching the two clients. During that time, the lasers are activated, but that time does not count for the tmp mining cycle time.
U can end up with up to 1:30 min additional cycle time that is not accounted for...
Due to this "delay" you might get cap issues, when u have put a cycle time that ends shortly after the mining lasers have finished their 180s cycle. that will make the system activate the lasers 4 times in a short row, so u might run out of cap...

Re: Optimal TM settings for Mackinaw?
what we really need is a built in function for TM, enter M3 per 180s or and option for the 60s and cargo hold (possible check marks for mining bonuses)
I have a Spread sheet for it now but it's all ways changing based on the rock size, if there are large rocks I always go 120s
This week end I plan to time TMDC runs, with full belts to 4 empty field book marks (an example would be you mine out the first 4 and then the dreaded lost socket kicks every thing out and you start over no knowing which belts are mined out)
