Wormhole/System Scanner False Positive (FIXED)
Wormhole/System Scanner False Positive (FIXED)
Going through my screenshots from last night and I had a system scanner screenshot that had the "asteroid explodes from its former glory..." and I believe that is why my client exited.
I've disabled the show tactical and show damage notifications, just want to make sure I didn't miss another setting because it is kind of hard to replicate while I'm here at the computer.
Thanks!

Re: Wormhole/System Scanner False Positive
Could you post that screenshot here (after converting it to JPG with Windows Paint)?

Re: Wormhole/System Scanner False Positive
I have mine setup so that it doesn't shut off the lasers it mines until warp and only then does it fill the cargohold, so that isn't a problem.

Re: Wormhole/System Scanner False Positive
Is this something new with Inferno? Has it ever occurred in the past? To me it looks like an unfortunate coincidence and at the moment I don't see a solution to this problem, unless you have some suggestions?

Re: Wormhole/System Scanner False Positive
Maybe allow the warp to pos and wait for system to clear option for the scanner.
Will run into problems if the belt is outside of scan range if someone is camping in the belt... but darwin could help the rest of us.

Re: Wormhole/System Scanner False Positive
I don't understand how did you get the Large Ship Assembly Array in your scanner screenshot? The first screenshot is taken when the ship first arrives in belt just before starting to mine... Why is your LSAA there at a distance of 0m as if you were standing right next to it?

That, I'm not sure.
I can try to get another set of screenshots.

Change the location of the scanning window. Bottom Right, or between bookmarks and corporate hangar.
You mine in a WH and don't have problems with this?

Re: Wormhole/System Scanner False Positive
I haven't mined in a WH lately but I have never encountered this problem before and I did mine A LOT in a wormhole (well only arkonor, bistot and crokite). Maybe they changed the location of this message with Inferno.. Or maybe the message disappeared by the time TinyMiner clicked the scanner button again. I've always used a single mining cycle of about 10 minutes or so and set all lasers on the same asteroid as if I were mining ICE. Usually the asteroid was so big it lasted many of these 10 minute cycles.
Either way YOU are the first person to ever report this problem so far... I'll see what I can do about it. How often did you encounter this issue? Did it start with Inferno or not?

Re: Wormhole/System Scanner False Positive
I didn't mine in a WH before inferno.
I setup mine the same way, cept about 5 minutes for a covetor.
So far it has only happened twice. Out of about two weeks running.

Re: Wormhole/System Scanner False Positive
I am using system scanner in empire as insurance against gangers and have been having the same false positives since inferno. The screen shots shown are the same as I get. So ccp must have moved the notices up the screen so thay overlap the detection area now.

Re: Wormhole/System Scanner False Positive
This feature has been introduced in version v5.58 now. The directional scanner window has been moved a bit down placing it just above the shields in order to avoid false positives from system messages (such as asteroids popping).

Re: Wormhole/System Scanner False Positive (FIXED)
could you show us a screen shot of where you have it now, having trouble getting this feature working as keeps telling me the screen shot has changed , do you change the columns at all to get rid of the distance as i thought that might be whats causing the problem

Re: Wormhole/System Scanner False Positive (FIXED)
This is pretty much straight forward so I'm sure you can figure it out on your own. There shouldn't be any differences between the original scanner snapshot and subsequent ones. If the distance has changed then that's your problem right there.
You haven't mentioned any details or posted any screenshots so I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish. This feature is meant to be used primarily in wormholes where you are mining a gravimetric site so you should only have one bookmark.
