Feature request: onboard scanner monitoring

Post by botawesome »

Hi VanGogh,

This request is in reference with http://www.tinyminer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1919.

Currently the WH Mining option (monitor the onboard scanner) only has the option to EXIT eve as soon as a change is detected.
The WH mining option is quite useful in high sec space too, it allows your to monitor for the typical gankers ship type. But I don't want it to quit my eve when it detects them.

Would love to see the current options extended and for example have tiny miner use the "take a break" option instead.
So whenever a change on the onboard scanner is detected, have tiny miner dock to station or warp to pos and have it take a break instead of quitting eve.
It could use the already configurable break minutes so that there is no need for an additional field to specify the break duration or have a static break time built in.

Thanks for considering this option.

I have not seen any response to above message. I still believe this is the best detection option 'ganking' pirates in high sec space.
The local chat monitor can do only 10 characters. This would provide a almost fool proof setup.

Overview -> ICE and destroyer type ships.
Set the onboard scanner to 200km scan radius only. Use overview settings.

Now while in the belt, any destroyer (typically a catalyst) within 200km range will show up on the onboard scanner.
TM would detect this and warp to POS or station. Currently it would quite eve immediately.

Could we have an enhancement to TM so that it would take a break instead of quitting EVE?

Yes this is a good idea and it's been added on the "to do" list for the next version.
