How to best use T2 Strips?

Post by germanicus »

Hi i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how to best use T2 strip miners with Tinyminer? I was thinking of filtering tabs for different high sec ores and coming back periodically to change the crystals. But obviously that means it can't be autonomous for long periods of time. Any help would be great. Thanks

Yes you could do that just fine. Mining crystals should last all throughout the day or even a couple of days. Don't you think that's autonomous enough?

Mining crystals

Post by mutt »

had this on my "gee wouldnt it be nice if...." wish list for a year or so....

right now I'm using T1 Strips, mining everything I see... and its working fine

but every once in a while, I think to myself... T2 Strips mine WAY more per cycle.... but, as everyone knows, T2 strips need crystals. and crystals wear out...

any chance we get an enhancement to keep 3 mining crystals in our cargoholds?

I know that a miner would most likely have to concentrate on ONE type of roid. but the mining rate leaves me... DROOLING

Keeping crystals in your cargo would only cause them to get unloaded together with the rest of ore when returning to the station. On the other hand nothing prevents you to manually reload crystals since they last a day or two anyway so you can change them at the beginning of your mining sessions and then forget about them until the next day.

T2 Strips and Crystals

Post by Da Dude »

Since the cargo is emptied each time in station, am I right to assume that T2 Strips and crystals cannot be used?

No, your assumption is incorrect. Since there were multiple threads on the same topic I have merged them into one so just read the answers above. Basically mining crystals are okay to use, just make sure to refresh them every couple of days or so.

Just write in a script to load 3 crystals everytime after it unloads the cargo hold. For people like me who use all t2 crystals for all my mining, and i mine to keep my accounts running so i have to maximixe my mining as much as possible.

This feature has been introduced now in the latest version v5.44. After unloading the ore in station, TinyMiner can now take the mining crystals from the station's hangar and put them in the ship's cargo to be used when the equipped crystals run out.

Yes that's right. Crystals work like any other ammunition. Whenever one runs out it will automatically load another one as long as there are crystals in the ship's cargo.
