Medium T2 Rigs in Jita now cost 88 million and are still dropping in price (to compare; large T2 still cost 304m and were never worth the buy)
For a Mackinaw that means an investment of max 180m (or less) to get 10% more.
Basic m3 Mack = 6.000m3
Skilled and with T1 Rigs = 12.899m3
So my simplest way would be to add 10% coming to 14.189m3.
Am I correct by just adding 10% or is it more difficult then that?
Just wanna make sure. The ISK is no problem, especially not when it means I can do new calculations based on 14 cubes per run and see if that's more profitable on the long run and how long that would be to become profitable again after buying these babies.
Mack + T2 Medium Rigs = 14 cubes

Don't you just love these enthousiastic newcommers....
Btw; I'm a bit overdue posting my 12 month use of TM jubileum, but for sure I will find time to get of my lazy ass and bling bling that posting.
For now; Ice is more attracting then you nerds

Re: Mack + T2 Medium Rigs = 14 cubes
well.... I've done some math
with an orca... boosting, dec'd out to the max... with mining forman mindlink, and almost maxed out warfare links
(havent got Yeti augs for the mack pilots... but thats coming)
anyway.... here's what I found
with 2 T1 cargo hold opts....
and 2 T2 Ice Harvesters
the "optimum" low slot configs are....
1 T2 Expanded Cargohold
1 T2 Ice Harvester Upgrade...
this gives me a "cycle" time of 242 seconds
and lets me harvest 10 cubes per run.... 2.5 cycles.... (some fine tuning and my "cycle" length is 550 seconds)
compensating for warp time, I get a round trip every 13 mins 40 seconds...
this translates into 44 cubes an hour
if I forgo the Ice Harvester upgrade for another T2 Expanded cargo hold
this gives me a "cycle" time of 266 seconds
while this lets me harvest 12 cubes, the slower Harvest time results in a round trip every 16 minutes 50 seconds
42.77 cubes an hour
going with 2 T2 Ice Harvester upgrades gives me a COOKIN "cycle time" of 218 seconds
but the 7935 m3 cargo in essence wastes 1935m3 & only gives 6 cubes per run...
1.5 cycles... and while a round trip only takes 9 minutes... (of which 4 minutes 10 seconds are "flight time")
this only results in 40.15 cubes an hour
if you were Ice mining in lowsec (something Ive never done) this might be a good config... I dont know
hulks... dont bother... they range from 35 to 37.4 cubes per hour
this brings us to a rather interesting issue...
all the "cycle times" will be the same for the Exp Cargo vs IceHarvesterUpgrade configs
anyway cargohold opts... T1 vs T2....
due to a rather strange quirk in the math...
you get the SAME output from the optimum T1 build (1 IHU & 1 Exp cargohold)
that you get from T2 CargoHold opts and 2 T2 Exp Carghoholds....
while you get 14 cubes per run, the lower cycle rate puts a run every 19.06 minutes... resulting in...
44.08 cubes per hour
there is no significant gain in cargo cap in a 1 Exp Cargo / 1 IHU config (10117m3 for t1 vs 11016m3 for t2),
so there is no change in the harvest numbers here 44.08 cubes per hour
interestingly the 2IHU & no Cargo Expander config yields the highest yield
8 cubes per run
1 run every 10 min 48 seconds
44.49 cubes per hour...
anyway...
from the aspect of a Mackinaw....
for the price of the T2 Opt rigs....
it just aint worth it.... in my book

Re: Mack + T2 Medium Rigs = 14 cubes
an update
flying with BX-2 Yeti implants.... and maxed out warfare links on my booster... I've trimmed 40 seconds off my run time...
T2 ice harvesters... 1 t2 IHU.... 1 T2 expanded cargohold.... 2 T1 cargohold optimizers
1 trip every 13 minutes... 46.2 cubes per hour... thats COOKIN

Re: Mack + T2 Medium Rigs = 14 cubes
After you fixed your max hardware en skill config, start working on the side issues like; how far is the docking spot from the icebelt. Your navigation skills (agility/turning/subwarp speed), time your whole run more exactly.
And just thinking that if your skillset is perfect you can do one more thing that helps in milliseconds; see if you can reduce the mass of your ship.
This is something I just came up with, so I have to dive into it one day (one day
)
14 icecubes in 13.87 minutes (832 sec/cycle + 44 sec to belt) is what I can do max with the same as you have so either you mine next door, or you are talking about 12 cubes be cause I do effectively aprox 50 cubes per hour (on each client
)
But this whole calc became obsolete. More a hobby then need/greed as I now usually have enough when every miner brings in max 100m p/day.
There is no need for more equip, bufferzone, plex, accounts, etc...
Even did a standing run the other month for 4 accounts and spent per char 500 million buying the tags so I could just buy faction standing or the Cosmos ships that I bought each costing 2b a piece per char...
Spent 10b in 2 months time and whoopie I can hang a POS in everything up to a 0.8 system in most of Empire on 6 chars sofar.....
There is a point in time that making more and more isk becames useless and you need to be satisfied.
Need before greed and enjoy chat and a latte with friends
