Interesting Bug
I have the Standing monitor on and the Terrible standing is docking for excellent standing?

Re: Interesting Bug
There isn't any bug, one icon is read, the other is blue, can't really mistake one for another. Probably your local chat window is not sized and positioned exactly as shown in the tutorial screenshots and so unexpected false positives can happen due to the ever changing space background in game.

Monitor local chat for hostiles - FALSE alerts (SOLVED)
Hi VG.
Thanks for the awesome program.
I have a problem with my ship docking to station after detecting hostiles (false alert) whilst mining even though there are only NEUTS in the local chat window.
I have set everything up as per the tutorial. This feature works fine every now and again, but it seems that after the ship has docked to unload and thereafter exits the station, warps to asteroid belt, it for some reason detects pilots with terrible standings, even though all pilots in the local chat window has neutral standings - yes I have made sure that all the color tags were set-up correctly to flag terrible / bad standings etc.
I have checked the standings of the pilots while the false alert is in progress, and all pilot has security statuses above 0 and is not part of Code etc.
If it's of any benefit, this is in high sec mining.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Monitor local chat for hostiles - FALSE alerts
If you attached a screenshot of your in-game setup you could've saved us a lot of guesswork but I believe your local chat window is in the wrong place and/or has the wrong size.
It needs to be sized and positioned EXACTLY as shown in the tutorial screenshots. The program is looking for the standing icons in a certain well-defined area and if the chat window is not present in that location then unexpected results can happen.

Re: Monitor local chat for hostiles - FALSE alerts
Hi VG,
So I went to fetch the ruler and found my left side was 3mm too far to the right. I started TM again and everything went ok for the 1st run.
After unloading ore and going on the 2nd run, I got the false alert again.
I'm a bit of a noob with uploading screenshots, hope it shows

Re: Monitor local chat for hostiles - FALSE alerts
In your log I see there "Pressing F10 to open the system map", however I see no map being open to provide a uniform black background all over. To clarify, this is about the old system map (uncheck the "Try the new map" option in "Eve General Settings" under "Experimental features)! Then everything should work correctly!

Hi VG,
TM auto presses F10 before warping to station. During normal mining the map is open to provide the black background. I have disabled the try new map option as well. I'm still stuck! Other suggestions please
Thanks again

Re: Monitor local chat for hostiles - FALSE alerts
It seems to be a false positive of some sort. I'll have to tweak the code a bit to address it. In the meantime you could try moving to another system with a darker background without red clouds all over and see if it makes a difference...

Re: Monitor local chat for hostiles - FALSE alerts
Hi VG,
There is definetely something buggy with Terrible Standings detection, at least for me. I have in the interim moved all my Terrible Standings contacts to Bad Standings and now I monitor only the Bad standings option, and it works 100%. If its of any benefit for you to look into the code, this happens in Amarr space territory.

Re: Monitor local chat for hostiles - FALSE alerts (SOLVED)
In the latest version v5.81 the detection of hostiles with terrible standings has been made more robust and it shouldn't trigger these false positive alerts anymore!

I am on 5.81 and it seems to be missing hostiles now. I have terrible and bad standings checked, but the system keeps mining even when they show up.

It works flawlessly but most likely you have the local chat window in the wrong position. In order to take a useful screenshot press the PrintScreen key to capture an image of your entire desktop with the Eve Online and TinyMiner windows on it at the exact moment you experience your particular issue and then open Windows Paint, paste it in there (Ctrl-V), save it as JPG and attach it to this thread or email to me in private.

Re: Monitor local chat for hostiles - FALSE alerts (SOLVED)
Here is an example. I started a new session with the bad/terrible folks in the system. I scrolled down so you could see the bad/terrible marker on the person.

Re: Monitor local chat for hostiles - FALSE alerts (SOLVED)
I told you that your Local Chat window is in the wrong position even before you posted your screenshot. Also the column with player names needs to have the minimum width.
Sometimes I wonder if people are doing this on purpose... Please go over the tutorial one more time, a bit more careful this time. You have a correct screenshot even in this thread if you scroll up a bit...

Re: Monitor local chat for hostiles - FALSE alerts (SOLVED)
It also appears like they need to be visible in the list. In a system with lots of pilots, if the terrible one is down at the bottom and outside the visible area they won't be detected. Maybe this list could be scrolled on occasion?
Another useful check might be for pilots that have a kill right on them since they have killed you before.
Just an idea or two.

Re: Monitor local chat for hostiles - FALSE alerts (SOLVED)
When you set it up correctly the local chat window can accommodate roughly 20 pilots without scrolling. If your system is highly populated then you should definitely move somewhere else in a quieter system! Also you can add whoever killed you as a contact with terrible standings and it will appear with a red icon along with every other hostile!
