was having some issues with the code blowing up my barges, but then when i set to orbit while mining they couldn't kill me before concord came in. So that's really helpful to not lose ships. The draw back on this is not pulling in as much ore per run due to the ship drifting off after the orbiting rock has popped. The only reason i was loosing ships at that point was from getting stuck trying to warp and rats killing me. I upgraded my ship to a mackinaw, and was wanting to know what everyone one else is doing in regards to the orbiting?
Also was wanting to see if we could have an orbiting feature where it would not lock and mine the roid in the first position and only lock roids two and three so we could use the first one as an anchor to help reduce getting ganked and loosing the more expensive ships.
Happy mining!
To Orbit or not to orbit that is the question (SOLVED)

Set CODE. and the other ganker corps/alliances as red and use the local chat scan feature, if anyone red jumps in you dock up. Orbiting is really personal preference.

Orbiting is very helpful to approach distant asteroids. That coupled with the "Stop orbiting when lasers are active" setting from TinyMiner's Advanced Options, makes for very efficient mining!

I'm about to take the plunge into Orca mining. Does TM stop orbiting an Orca when it's within 1000m of a roid? Since an Orca does not have mining lasers, how does TM stop orbiting?

Yes, Orca mining works very well with the "Stop orbiting" feature. It only orbits when the currently targeted asteroid pops and a new one needs to be locked! Set the cycle time to 50 seconds or so for maximum efficiency!
